It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, which only means one thing, party season. We all want to look our best, especially during December. Combing through high street rails and scrolling online, all to find that one dress. A combination of comfort, versatility and movement, if we hit the dancefloor.

In the run-up to Christmas, I was challenged by Oasis to style three party looks for the holiday season. As I scrolled through their partywear section, a mixed animal print dress caught my attention. The ruffle trims, piecrust neckline and waist fastening details made it certain, this was the dress for me.

Layer It Up

The practical styling method during party season, especially on those exceptionally cold nights. Where we’d prefer being wrapped in blankets, sipping on hot chocolate, but a party is a close second. Simply swapping the hot chocolate for mulled wine.

Depending on wardrobe choices, this option can hold an air of sophistication. A fitted blazer, straight-cut coat, or even over-the-knee boots. Personally, I wanted to play with prints and sparkles. I opted for a checked blazer, pairing it with black glitter boots and double back earrings. The half ponytail adds a playful nature to the look. It’s also an autumn hair trend, sported by Kim Kardashian-West and Jennifer Lopez.

Simple Styling

Perhaps my favourite styling from the options. It’s easy, allows the dress to shine and focuses on accessories. When it came to choosing shoes and a bag, I decided to go with tonal styling. Pairing the dress with olive lace-up heels in a velvet finish. Mixing textures is a key element to tonal styling as it keeps the look visually appealing. The gold accents on the cross-body bag tie the jewellery into the look effortlessly. Side swept hair highlights the three sparkle hairgrips and statement earrings. The sparkles instantly say feeling festive during party season.

My signature style in one word would be vibrant. I adore colours, prints and textures. This look is a mix of all three. When I think of velvet, my mind automatically connects it to the holiday season. A beautiful texture that elevates any outfit. I decided to turn the Oasis print dress into a top by pairing it with a fuchsia skirt. Pairing the look with berry heels, burgundy drop earrings and a high ponytail.
